日本航空（JAL/JL、9201）は6月21日、新千歳空港の国内線カウンターをリニューアルしたと発表しました。自動手荷物預け機の新設やカウンターのデザイン刷新など、空港の利便性を高めた「スマートエアポート」と呼ぶサービスで、羽田空港に続いて2空港目。新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）対策として、非接触化も進めています。空港に到着したJALの国内線利用者は、ICカードや搭乗用二次元バーコードを持っていればチェックイン手続きが不要で、保安検査場へ進めます。手荷物がある場合は自動手荷物預け機（SBD＝Self Baggage Drop）を使い、自分で手荷物タグを貼って預けます。自動チェックイン機のタッチパネルにはセンサーを増設し、画面に直接触れなくても操作できるようにしました。一方、SBDでは預けられない荷物がある場合などはカウンターで対応します。赤ちゃん連れや車いすを利用する人など、係員の手伝いを必要とする人向けの「スマイルサポートカウンター」と呼んでいた施設は、「スペシャル・アシスタンスカウンター」に刷新しました。スマートエアポートの計画は、2019年7月に発表。今年7月に開催が予定されている東京オリンピック・パラリンピックを見据えたもので、羽田では発表翌月の8月から出発ロビーの改修が始まり、2020年12月25日に全面リニューアルしました。新千歳の後は、今冬に伊丹と那覇の2空港、2022年春に福岡空港へ展開を予定しています。

[ JAL - Contactless check-in Available in New Chitose Airport ]

Japan Airlines (JAL/JL, 9201) announced on June 21 that it has renewed its domestic flight counters at New Chitose Airport. This is the second airport after Haneda Airport to offer what it calls a "smart airport" service, which includes a new automatic baggage check-in machine and a redesigned counter to improve convenience at the airport. As a countermeasure against the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), we are also promoting the use of contactless technology. JAL domestic passengers arriving at the airport do not need to go through the check-in procedure if they have an IC card or 2D barcode for boarding, and can proceed to the security checkpoint. If you have baggage, you can use the Self Baggage Drop (SBD) machine to attach your own baggage tag. A sensor has been added to the touch panel of the self-service check-in kiosk so that it can be operated without directly touching the screen. On the other hand, if you have luggage that cannot be checked in at SBD, the counter will be able to help you. The facility that we used to call the "Smile Support Counter" for people with babies, people in wheelchairs, and others who need help from the attendants has been revamped into the "Special Assistance Counter". The plan for the Smart Airport was announced in July 2019. In anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics scheduled to be held in July this year, renovation of the departure lobby at Haneda began in August, the month after the announcement, and was fully renovated on December 25, 2020. After New Chitose, it is scheduled to be rolled out to Itami and Naha airports this winter, and to Fukuoka airport in spring 2022.
