世界的な航空輸送情報技術会社SITA，スターアライアンス，NECの3社は、スターアライアンス加盟航空会社向けに空港での生体認証サービスを提供することで合意しました。これにより、生体認証IDを搭乗券として利用することが可能になり、空港でのタッチレス化がさらに進むことになります。SITAのID管理ソリューション「スマートパス」とNECの生体認証プラットフォーム「 I:Delight」を接続。スターアライアンス加盟航空会社は、このシステムを活用することで、生体認証による旅客処理を行うことが可能になります。スマートパスはすでに世界の460空港で導入されています。I:Delightはマスク着用でも顔の認識が可能。乗客は一度のみ顔情報を登録するだけで、生体認証IDを搭乗券として、利用可能な空港で複数の加盟航空会社の乗り継ぎもタッチレスで通過することも可能になります。なお、スターアライアンスとNECは、2019年7月に生体認証を活用した本人確認プラットフォーム(Star Biometrics Hub)の開発で協業を発表。NECの顔認証技術を活用した開発をすすめてきました。

[Facial recognition can be used as a boarding pass even when wearing a mask]

SITA which is a global air transport information technology company, Star Alliance, and NEC, have agreed to provide biometric services at airports for Star Alliance member airlines. This will make it possible to use biometric IDs as boarding passes, further promoting the touchless system at airports.
SITA's ID management solution "Smart Pass" and NEC's biometric authentication platform "I:Delight" are connected. By utilizing this system, Star Alliance member airlines will be able to process passengers using biometric authentication.
Smart Pass has already been introduced in 460 airports around the world, and I:Delight can recognize faces even when masks are worn. Passengers only need to register their facial information once, and their biometric ID can be used as a boarding pass for touchless transit through multiple member airlines at any available airport.
In July 2019, Star Alliance and NEC announced a collaboration to develop a biometrics-based identity verification platform (Star Biometrics Hub), which has utilized NEC's face recognition technology.
