Business travel to resume between Japan and Korea from Oct. 8, allowing for business activities during 14-day quarantine period
Following discussions between Japan and Korea aimed at gradually resuming international travel between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that, beginning October 8th, 2020, travel would resume through a "business track" and a "residence track." From that day the Korean Embassy the Consulate General in Japan will begin procedures for these tracks. The business track will grant special entry permission to those traveling between Japan and Korea to conduct business activities even during the 14-day quarantine period, with some restrictions, provided a written plan of activities is submitted. It is primarily intended for those on short-term business trips. The residence track is primarily intended for long-term residents, such as expatriate contract workers and such, who may be granted special exceptions for entry, although a 14-day quarantine period after entering Korea or Japan will remain in effect.
